It takes a certain mind-set to forge a successful career in real estate, a field that can be quite competitive. As the fourth child in a family of nine children, Kevin can certainly relate to the importance of competing – all the way back to the dinner table when he was a kid!
Kevin’s competitive zeal and desire to thrive under pressure led him to two careers, simultaneously for a period of time: Playing foosball at the highest professional level as he traveled around the United States (beginning as a teenager), and buying and selling homes here in Colorado since his early 20s. In 1985, he became a licensed real estate agent, and he spent many years buying rental and fix-up homes, making necessary repairs and upgrades, then selling them. He also operated a vending game company during this period, further expanding his diverse business background.
In 2004, Kevin began using his real estate license to work more with the public in the Grand Junction area, particularly gearing his efforts toward those who needed help establishing good credit in order to buy a home and fulfill the American Dream. He worked with Century 21 and Metro Brokers, then opened his own company, Vantage Realty, which he operated for 4½ years. In May 2009, Kevin was offered the opportunity to join the Keller Williams team, and he has since helped hundreds of customers – even those who didn’t think they had the finances – realize the dream of owning their own home.
Since joining Keller Williams, Kevin has been the top producer in the Grand Junction office, with the most units sold in each of the past three years. His extensive knowledge of home financing and loan plans – particularly through his Good, Bad & Ugly Credit program – has made home ownership a reality for many who never thought they would own their own home, and has contributed greatly to his success as a top agent. Among his awards:
·         2009: Keller Williams Gold Award for most units sold (42) and most volume sold
·         2010: Keller Williams Double Gold Award for most units sold (50) and most volume sold
·         2011: Keller Williams Triple Gold Award for most units sold (65 Units)
 
Kevin makes a point of staying well-informed on changes in the lending industry, especially with regard to first-time home-buyer programs such as CHAFA, as well as FHA, VA, conventional and USDA 100-percent financing loans.
